50 Ways to Build Traffic

Some of us have websites and most of us are connected with an organization that does. And that cause’s site deserves more eyeballs, which can lead to more good things happening. Just as everyone in a nonprofit is a fundraiser, no matter what our job is, we should also all be marketers. So how do you attract more people?

Seeking answers to that question, online entrepreneur Dan Norris asked others (pictured above) for their wisdom. One action was to create a list post: 10 things that do this, 20 ways to do that. So for his blog Norris combined several ideas from his own chart—create a list post, give stuff away for free, create an info graphic—to, well, create this interactive infographic.

You can watch the whole thing on a slideshare at the bottom and you can hear on this podcast (toward the end) how well it did.

So whether we directly manage audience building or work in a group that benefits (or depends) on the web, we may all want to explore this and help make it happen.
